Assistant project manager
We are currently looking for Assistant Project Manager to join our client based in Cranfield on a fixed term 12 month contract.
The newly created post of Assistant Project Manager - Strategic Initiatives will play a key role in
supporting delivery of two vital strategic projects.
The role requires a skilled individual, capable of operating confidently and decisively at a senior
level of the organisation. The post holder will have a background in successfully supporting
delivering on large scale strategic projects and initiatives. Both projects will involve the following:
Building, managing and leveraging strategic partnerships with government, industry, coinvestors,
including our key partners and other Universities.
- Managing and reporting on complex high level budgets and multi-layered project plans.
Planning and implementation of complex infrastructure projects involving both people and
buildings, influencing and winning over stake holders and other parties along the way.
Assembling and co-ordinating resources and influencing staff, identifying suppliers and
partnerships, ensuring that delivery of each project is prioritised in an efficient and effective

The Assistant Project Manager role requires you to use your skills and knowledge to support the
Assistant Director of Strategic Projects in to turn the MK:U vision and outline project plans into a
deliverable programme; and effectively support management of the CDS relocation to Cranfield.
There is complex planning involved at all levels, where you will be instrumental in supporting the
Assistant Director of Strategic Projects to ensure that these key strategic projects are effectively
moved forward and delivered against. In planning for the best outcomes, you will work crossfunctionally
with external and internal stakeholders in a collaborative, credible and professional
Exceptional organisation, influencing and planning skills will ensure you obtain the buy-in, access
the resources, and balance the needs and requirements of all stake holders whilst sharing
important information and data in a timely manner in order that everyone is kept informed of
milestones and obstacles to progress. You will need to support the planning a number of projects
within each strategic programme and ensure that all are aligned to agreed project goals and fully

confidentiality and prior relationships with senior Cranfield staff.
£40k - £47k experience dependent.
